So, hi, this is Professor Snowden.
SPEAKER_01And this is Professor Snowden.
SPEAKER_00But you can call us Professor Jack and Professor Bennett. So what do we want to do today?
SPEAKER_01Well, this is episode two of season two of Pokemon Roundtable. The chalked region. I thought episode one was a smashing success. We crushed it. We created a new region. A new city.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Ham bun.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01And two new Pokemon.
SPEAKER_00Rodonai and Zumeratsu.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So we created those two new Pokemon.
SPEAKER_00Zumeratsu and Rodanai.
SPEAKER_01Based off of an armadello.
SPEAKER_00And a pingolin.
SPEAKER_01And a pangolin. Those were really cool. I really enjoyed those.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And today we come to you with the starters.
SPEAKER_01Alright, let's do it. Starters.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01How many are we gonna create?
SPEAKER_00There's three every region. Every game. Okay. Single dummy!
SPEAKER_01So you create two and I create one?
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Okay, I vote you create your two first so that helps be create mine.
SPEAKER_00We did this last season where I created the grass one, then you created the fire one.
SPEAKER_01Okay. I'm always the sucker for the fire types. Those are my favorite.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so do we first starter is a grass type.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Okay, what are we thinking?
SPEAKER_00So sorry, we had to do some research. And so we're gonna start with the horse starter. Sound cool?
SPEAKER_01So for the grass starter, you're thinking horse themed?
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
unknownI'm not gonna bring it to the EOI bus yet.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So maybe it's like a little cob. It's a baby horse cob uh.
SPEAKER_01It's not a calf, it's uh I don't know, a baby horse.
SPEAKER_00Okay. So maybe bey horse.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Love it. Oh it's called a foal. Oh a baby horse is called a foal.
SPEAKER_00Wait, foliage.
SPEAKER_01Foliage spelled F-O-A-L I-A-G-E.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And it's like a little horse. And it's all green and it has little muddy paws. And it has like a little leaf popping out of his head.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Love it.
SPEAKER_00Now we're gonna move on to the fire stutter.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Fire stutter. Dad, you're making the fires.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I'm thinking rattlesnake. Lots of rattlesnakes in Texas and Oklahoma. We're doing and we're doing parts of New Mexico, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Definitely rattlesnakes in New Mexico. Um is rattler too generic of a name?
SPEAKER_00Too generic.
SPEAKER_01Uh rattleby.
SPEAKER_00What does rattle bee mean?
SPEAKER_01I don't know, it just sounded kind of cute, like baby and rattle. Rattleby.
SPEAKER_00Um how about emberattle?
SPEAKER_01Ember rattle? Mm-hmm. Okay. I don't see why not. Ember rattle. With just one R in the middle.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Isn't that a cute name?
SPEAKER_01I love it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, now it's time to make it so water starter.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So we're gonna base it off of a North American river or otter. So like let's make it like bipedal. It's all blue. What about navy blue paws? And then it's gonna have a little teal flint knife attached to its tummy.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Can we name it auto? You can say no.
SPEAKER_00Flint Auto Matic.
SPEAKER_01O T T O Maddock.
SPEAKER_00How about flanotter? No, actually flannotter. Yeah, flannotter.
SPEAKER_01Flynnotter.
SPEAKER_00No, flintotter.
SPEAKER_01Flintotter. Okay, it's starting to make sense. Okay. Is that one word or two?
SPEAKER_00One word. Every single start is like that. Now the time to make the evolution for foliage.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And it's gonna have like a bigger flint knife. It's gonna be semi-bipedal.
SPEAKER_01Oh the flint knife is for the water starter.
SPEAKER_00Oh oh oh.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, just here to keep you on track, big guy. Okay, so we're evolving the foliage.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So what if it just gets like semi-bipedal? It has so here in our stay at Santa Fe, we've seen quite a lot of bamboo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So maybe it has like bamboo protrusions that make it semi-bipedal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And then it has flowers on its back.
SPEAKER_01Like its mane turns to flowers.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. And the leaf on its head starts like getting more leaves. And its paws aren't so muddy, but its chin is muddy. It's gonna be cute.
SPEAKER_01Definitely gonna be cute.
SPEAKER_00Its name is gonna be Bambours.
SPEAKER_01Bamborus?
SPEAKER_00No, Bambourse.
SPEAKER_01B-A-M-B-O-O-R-S. Oh, like a horse. Bambourse, that makes sense. Uh. Uh-huh. Okay, so we're going from foliage to bambourse. It's got some bamboo legs and a flower mane and a muddy nose.
SPEAKER_00No, a muddy chin.
SPEAKER_01Muddy chin. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And bamboo paws.
SPEAKER_01Bamboo paws.
SPEAKER_00I make it send me by a peatle. Now time for embryo. It does. Wait, we never said what emburado looks like.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think it looks like a snake.
SPEAKER_00What if he's like a little red snake with a little flame or something?
SPEAKER_01Or what if it was turquoise colored?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Okay, red, you wanna go red?
SPEAKER_00And then he has a little flame pattern on his underbelly and on his tail.
unknownFlame pattern.
SPEAKER_00No, we don't put that in.
unknownSticky notes.
SPEAKER_00We don't have to know what it looks like or for the recap.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So just delete all that.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So what does Emberattle evolve into?
SPEAKER_01Uh well, we could give it two rattles, two heads, a bigger body.
SPEAKER_00How about diamond flare?
SPEAKER_01Diamond flare?
SPEAKER_00Dye.
SPEAKER_01Like its skin is dyed?
SPEAKER_00No diamond flare.
SPEAKER_01Dye evolves to diamond flare.
SPEAKER_00No. Diamond.
SPEAKER_01Okay, how do you spell that? I'm a little confused.
SPEAKER_00You got it right.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, buddy. I don't know what that big brain's thinking. You're always one step ahead of me, and you're just trying to keep pace. Diamond flare. Okay. Love it.
SPEAKER_00Maybe it starts having like little blue diamonds on its back.
SPEAKER_01I love that.
SPEAKER_00And then when it gets mad, they flare up into f into fire.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, dig it.
SPEAKER_00And on its head, it grows a little like red, like um some like hair.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then it has um okay, one question.
SPEAKER_01Do snakes have hair? I feel like they have scales.
SPEAKER_00No, like the fire like resembles hair.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha. That makes sense.
SPEAKER_00And then the fire on its tail begins to resemble a rattle, and it has like little beads around beads of fire around it, and then it shakes its tail. Fire.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00That'd be cute.
SPEAKER_01That'd be very cute.
SPEAKER_00Now time for the water.
SPEAKER_01And terrifying. If I was on the other side of it. We'd not want to battle this thing.
SPEAKER_00Time for the water setter.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So what if he has like we're talking about flint otter here.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00Flintotter.
SPEAKER_01Flint otter.
SPEAKER_00It's flint knife starts to resemble more of an arrowhead. It gets pretty. It gets it's white blue, so it gets a little bit dark darker, but not as dark as navy blue, so we keep those navy blue ones, and its fur resembles a bucket hat.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Talk about cute.
SPEAKER_00And the and it has white spots around the eyes.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then its tail grows like a little bit longer, and on the end, it's like a big circle for a paddling.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And its new name shall be.
SPEAKER_01What are you thinking?
SPEAKER_00Um, maybe like. Um, this is hard. The maybe like Otterhead? No. A quarter.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that. That may be the best name you've ever come up with. A quarter. Like that.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01That's so cute.
SPEAKER_00Now we have to evolve the starters once more.
SPEAKER_01Okay. So let's go back to grass type. And we've gone from foliage to bamborst.
SPEAKER_00To EO horses.
SPEAKER_01Okay, how'd we come up with EO horses?
SPEAKER_00Eohippus. Plus horse.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because Eohippus is a prehistoric extinct animal that was similar to a horse. I love that.
SPEAKER_00And that's gonna this Pokemon is gonna bring the secondary theme, which is which is I don't know what is just a second. Gonna be it's gonna be types of mountains.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00EO horses is gonna no, actually no, not types of mountains. It is based on a eo hippus and vines. No, actually, hold on. Eohorses is based on an eohippus and Indian patterns.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Like Native American?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00So that's the group theme, Indian patterns.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so Eohorasis is water ground. I mean grass ground.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And its signature move is Should it have something to do with a kick?
SPEAKER_01Like a horse would kick.
SPEAKER_00Or Flora kick.
unknownFlora kick.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Because it kind of keeps the grass theme too.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. And then it looks like a little it's bigger, its bamboo stalks are thicker. And it has little indie little dark green Indian patterns on its bamboo. And its tail grows a little leafy resemblance. Goes bigger with a leaf, which is a leaf. And it and there's flowers floating around it. And its mane. The flowers get um like forced together and they flow into the air. And its leaf hair drapes down to look like ears. And that's and it grows a much air more aerodynamic face.
SPEAKER_01I love this.
SPEAKER_00Okay, now time to evolve Diamond Snake.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00No, Diamond Flour.
SPEAKER_01Diamond Flor.
SPEAKER_00A diamond Diamond Flair.
SPEAKER_01Diamond Flair.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_01Okay, Diamond Flare.
SPEAKER_00Um two.
SPEAKER_01What if it had kind of a Gyarados type, like big and like wavy?
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah. And it gave Indian patterns on its giant flame rattle.
SPEAKER_01What if you could write it like Gyarados?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you can ride it. But it's gonna not be like more of a drag y look, it's gonna be more of a serpentine look.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_00And then it has flares coming out of its whole entire rib cage.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then black fire along its back.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00In its face is more is more fiery.
SPEAKER_01Can it have big fangs?
SPEAKER_00Made of fire. Oh yeah. Big fangs. Like big, big.
SPEAKER_01Are they poisonous?
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh. And that brings it to its type. Fire poison.
SPEAKER_01Wait, did we come up with a name for it?
SPEAKER_00It evolves into serpent serpent fire.
SPEAKER_01Serpent fang?
SPEAKER_00Yes, serpent fang.
unknownWow, I'm tired.
SPEAKER_01Serpent fang?
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And then maybe its signature move could be poison something.
SPEAKER_00How about ultra fang?
SPEAKER_01Poison fire?
SPEAKER_00No, ultra fang. Love this. And it has a 50-50 shot of poisoning the target.
SPEAKER_01Love that. 50-50 shot of what?
SPEAKER_00Poisoning.
SPEAKER_01It's a ponet.
SPEAKER_00And then time to evolve.
SPEAKER_01Can I just say that I really think that Ultra Fang's pretty sweet.
SPEAKER_00A quadr.
SPEAKER_01A quarter's cute.
SPEAKER_00It's gonna become quadrupedal.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Its tail is gonna get like a little bit fluffier like a beaver tail.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And then it's just gonna have arrowheads surrounding its head with Indian carvings on it.
SPEAKER_01What about we call it Quadr?
SPEAKER_00That's the name of its pre-evolution. How about beav beaver head? No, beav head.
SPEAKER_01Beav head?
SPEAKER_00Beav head. Love it. And its signature move is Arrow Stripe. A E R O.
SPEAKER_01What does that do?
SPEAKER_00No, it's two words. It's two words.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00And so basically it sends its arrowheads up into the sky and sends it down. Oh yeah, and its bucket cap turns into more of an army hat.
SPEAKER_01Love it.
SPEAKER_00And then it shoots all its arrowheads into the sky, and on the next turn, they all strike down the opponent.
SPEAKER_01Love it. Cute but ferocious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It's quite the one-two punch.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
unknownWait a minute.
SPEAKER_00And now we're gonna move on to the professor of the region.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00Wait, hold on, hold on. Professor, we have Professor Red Bud.
SPEAKER_01Okay, how'd we come up with Red Bud?
SPEAKER_00It's a famous tree in Oklahoma.
SPEAKER_01I can attest, lots of red buds in Oklahoma. Very beautiful trees.
SPEAKER_00He has a beautiful jacket. Scientist jacket with a shirt that has just tons of red bud blossoms on it. And and jean shorts, and then he has brown hair but red but red accents.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love that.
SPEAKER_00And he has red eyes.
SPEAKER_01Sounds like a cool guy.
SPEAKER_00So now pause, pause, so we're we made our starters, which are foliage and rattles our rattlesnake Pokemon. Uh-huh. And Flintatter. Flintatter.
SPEAKER_01Which is based off the North American River Otter. Super cute. Wow, I think we came up with some awesome stuff this episode.
SPEAKER_00Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01I really hope that our audience enjoyed this one. I think we I think we crushed it.
SPEAKER_00And I think Mama chose Professor Redbud over your dad.
SPEAKER_01No way.
SPEAKER_00Yes, day one!
SPEAKER_01Not in a million years.
SPEAKER_00No! You said Professor Redbuddha was riszy yourself.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but I'm super riszy.
SPEAKER_00No, you're not.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe we're just.
SPEAKER_00Just the freaking brushes his teeth once a week.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna have to edit that out of the podcast.
SPEAKER_00No, we're not, we're not, we're not, we're not.
SPEAKER_01Well, maybe on episode three we can have mom come as a special guest and choose me or Professor Redbud.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I feel very confident in who she'll choose. As cool as Professor Redbud is.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Okay, so this has been Professor Snowden.
